Gerald L. Schenk, Principal

Gerald L. Schenk is one of the principals of Schenk Annes Tepper Campbell Ltd.  Jerry is an experienced estate, probate, and business lawyer who provides quality legal services in all aspects of estate planning, probate, trust, guardianship administration and business law.

Jerry began his practice in the Estates Department of a large Chicago law firm.  He is admitted to practice law in Illinois, and before the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, and the United States Tax Court.

Jerry serves as counsel in the preparation of wills, trusts, premarital agreements, and other estate planning documents, and in probate and trust administration and litigation.  He provides legal services for business owners in the sales and acquisitions of businesses, succession plans for business ownership, buy-sell agreements, and general business and corporate law.

Professional Associations: Jerry is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, the Chicago Bar Association’s Trust Law Committee and Probate Committee, the Chicago Estate Planning Council, and RATFITS, a group of estate and wealth planning professionals.  He is a lecturer to corporate and private groups on estate planning.  He is a recipient of the Martindale Hubbell Law Directory’s highest “AV” rating, which recognizes legal abilities, high standards and professional ethics.

Andrew J. Annes, Principal

Andrew J. Annes is a principal of Schenk Annes Tepper Campbell Ltd.  Since 1982 Andy has been practicing in the areas of corporate, business, and transactional matters, real estate, litigation, estate planning, estate and trust administration, and family law.

Andy is admitted to the practice of law in Illinois, to the bar of the United States District Court, the Federal Trial Bar for the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Illinois, and practices in Bankruptcy Courts and Federal Courts throughout the United States.

Andy provides practical solutions to a wide array of legal and business problems in the areas of commercial and residential real estate (including acquisition, disposition, financing, joint venture creation, management and operational issues, leasing, brokerage issues, receivership representation and litigation), business and corporate law (including business formations, succession planning, management and operational issues, employment issues, business transactions and planning), estate planning, probate, trust administration and related litigation, commercial and general litigation in federal and state courts and family law.

Robert D. Tepper, Principal

Robert D. Tepper is a principal of Schenk Annes Tepper Campbell Ltd.  Bob has extensive background in the practice of commercial real estate law, business law, commercial and general litigation and trials, insurance law and family law.

He is admitted to practice in Illinois, in the Illinois Supreme Court, the Trial Bar of the United States District Court (Northern District of Illinois), the United States Court of Appeals (Seventh Circuit), the United States District Court and Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Michigan and practices in the Bankruptcy Courts and Federal Courts throughout the United States.

Bob is widely experienced in all aspects of commercial real estate, commercial and probate litigation, landlord and tenant law, representation of court appointed receivers of real estate, mortgage foreclosure litigation, insurance policy interpretation and litigation, defense of professionals (including the defense of attorneys, insurance agents and brokers, architects, engineers and design professionals), product liability and environmental coverage litigation, aviation litigation, general tort litigation, family law and employment law.

Professional Associations:  Bob is an active member of the Chicago, Illinois State and American Bar Associations, as well as the Lake County Bar Association where he was appointed to serve on the Lake County Juvenile Justice Counsel.  He has served on the Insurance and Aviation Law Committees, is a frequent lecturer on the topic of legal ethics, and has been active in special Chicago Bar Association-sponsored programs introducing law students to the rules of professional responsibility.  Bob is also a member of the Defense Research Institute (DRI).  He was awarded the Martindale Hubbell Law Directory’s highest “AV” rating.

John W. Campbell, Jr., Principal

John W. Campbell, Jr., a principal in the law firm of Schenk Annes Tepper Campbell Ltd., has been practicing law in Illinois since 2001.  John focuses his practice on business and corporate law, commercial real estate, nonprofit and charitable organizations, and commercial and general litigation.

He is admitted to the practice of law in Illinois, to the bar of the United States District Court, the Federal General Bar for the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Illinois and practices in Bankruptcy Courts and Federal Courts throughout the United States.

John is experienced and widely knowledgeable in business and corporate law (for profit and non-profit), commercial transactions, business planning, employment law, professional licensing, commercial real estate, and litigation. 

Throughout his career, John has appeared before numerous state and federal courts, and various state and local administrative bodies and mediation/arbitration panels.

Phillip N. Coover, Principal

Phillip N. Coover is a principal of Schenk Annes Tepper Campbell Ltd. and has been with the firm since 2005.  Phillip represents local and national commercial real estate investment companies, real estate development and brokerage companies, retail commercial property management companies, business owners, restaurants, and private equity lending companies.  

Phillip’s practice focusses on commercial litigation, receiverships and other distressed assets, foreclosures, commercial bankruptcy creditor representation, corporate transactional matters, real estate acquisitions and sales, business disputes and breach of fiduciary duties, debt collection, and other various matters. 

Phillip is licensed to practice law in the State of Illinois, the General Bar of the U.S. District Court (Northern District of Illinois), and the Trial Bar for the Northern District of Illinois.  He also holds an Illinois Managing Broker real estate license.   Phillip is a multiple time recipient of Super Lawyers Rising Star award in the area of Business Litigation—a designation only given to 2.5% of all attorneys in the State of Illinois, who are under the age of 40.  

Phillip has written and lectured extensively on various legal topics to the Chicago Bar Association, continuing legal education companies, and at private businesses.   He has done presentations on Landlord’s Rights in Retail Bankruptcies, creditors’ rights issues, and receivership obligations and duties.   Phillip has authored articles on the topics of litigation holds, the Keep Chicago Renting Ordinance, receiver liabilities and rights, employer-employee issues, and various other topics.

Phillip received his Bachelor of Arts degree with a double major in Economics and Political Science from the University of Illinois in 2004.  He received his Juris Doctor from DePaul University College of Law in 2007.  Phillip is an avid squash player and involved in club governance with the University Club of Chicago.

Allison M. Adams, Associate

Allison M. Adams is an associate of Schenk Annes Tepper Campbell Ltd. Allison received a Bachelor of Arts degree cum laude in Political Science from the University of Illinois in 2008. She received her Juris Doctor magna cum laude from DePaul University College of Law in 2011 with a focus in tax and corporate law.

In 2011, Allison became licensed and admitted to the practice of law before the Illinois Bar and the General Bar of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. She is also a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and the Chicago Bar Association. Allison practices in the areas of corporate transactions and litigation, taxation, commercial and residential real estate transactions and litigation, estate planning and estate administration.

Alex W. Norlander, Associate

Alex W. Norlander is an associate with Schenk Annes Tepper Campbell Ltd. Alex received a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from the Farmer School of Business at Miami University (OH) in 2009. In 2013, he received a Juris Doctor from The John Marshall Law School, where he served as the Executive Business Editor of The John Marshall Journal of Computer & Information Law. Alex was licensed and admitted to practice law in the State of Illinois in 2013 and is a member of the Chicago Bar Association. He concentrates his practice in the areas of commercial real estate and corporate transactions.

Tomasz A. Sobieraj, Associate

Tomasz A. Sobieraj is an associate with Schenk Annes Tepper Campbell Ltd. Tom received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication from the University of Illinois in 2010. He received his Juris Doctor from The John Marshall Law School in 2014.

Tom is licensed and admitted to practice of law before the Illinois Bar, the General Bar of the U.S. District Court of Illinois in the Northern District of Illinois, U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Illinois, and the U.S. District Court of Michigan in the Eastern District of Michigan.

Tom practices primarily in the areas of commercial litigation, commercial real estate, corporate law, bankruptcy, and residential real estate transactions with some appellate experience. Tom has also volunteered with the Chicago Volunteer Legal Services as a pro bono family law attorney.

Tom is an active member of the Chicago Bar Association, Illinois State Bar Association, American Bar Association, and Advocates Society. Additionally, Tom is a Junior Board Member of The Chicago Lighthouse.
